"Allow hunters to manage their badges electronically and intervene to realign the delivery date of the badges with the expiry date of the hunting activity". The request is made by Stefano Bargi (Lega) who in the past had already reported bureaucratic problems related to the hunting card management. Emphasizing that "even in 2023 the deadline for returning badges has not been postponed and the same problems as last year are being encountered" and above all remarking how "delayed returns can generate penalties that can discourage hunters from continuing the their activities”, Bargi proposes the use of a digital system and the realignment of the delivery date of the badges with the expiry date of the hunting activity.
Councilor Mammi's answer
Alessio Mammi, Councilor for agriculture and agri-food, hunting and fishing, replied clarifying that “the problem of the misalignment in the delivery of badges is a limited problem and cannot be changed as the dates are established by regional law. To avoid the inconvenience as much as possible, the card for the sampling of the selected wild boar in the period 16 April - 30 May 2022 and 31 March - 31 May 2023 can also be used in a period prior to 31 March, starting from the day in which the card was delivered to their own municipality. A necessary choice also adopted to counter the spread of wild boars ". As for the electronic card, Mammi confirmed that "the best technological solution is being studied to replace the old paper card but, also considering the average age of hunters, we do not want to adopt tools that could create further problems for users" .
The adoption of a digital tool
Bargi, sharing the choices made on the management of badges, further advocated the adoption of a digital tool “that can replace the old paper badge. Already today hunters are obliged to carry out telematic operations in the exercise of their activity. Furthermore, with an app to be installed on the phone, any red tape would be cut down, better control of the hunter would be guaranteed and, indirectly, an extremely important activity would be encouraged in a moment like the present one with a clear ungulate emergency and with the plague swine on our doorstep".
