The dates of the new appointment
On 22 April 2023 the week dedicated to theOperation Paladins of the Territory, an initiative born from the desire of the hunting world to actively contribute to the preservation and care of green areas and, in general, of the environment. The protagonists will be the territories of all the Italian regions where the paladins, mostly hunters from the individual areas, will intervene together with the willing citizens to develop an organic cleaning work. The initiative is supported by the UNA Foundation (Man, Nature, Environment), a reality that represents the meeting point in Italy between the environmental, agricultural and hunting, scientific and academic worlds.
Over 100 communities
After the great success of the 2022 edition, in which over 3000 people, united by a deep bond with their local area, participated in the initiatives held in more than 100 local communities, leading to the collection and disposal of about 20 tons of waste illegally deposited in woods and natural areas of the whole peninsula, giving benefits to more than 2 million people residing in the areas concerned, the Foundation has chosen to re-present the initiative by inviting all the local sections of the hunting associations, primarily those of its circuit (Federcaccia , Enalcaccia, Arcicaccia) to apply to organize the dedicated day in their area. All the local offices that want to join the initiative will be given a kit from Paladino del Territorio, the guidelines for carrying out the initiative in a functional way and all the support for organizing the initiatives.
UNA Foundation at the forefront
“With Operation Paladini del Territorio, the UNA Foundation has managed to mobilize thousands of people in the concrete launch of a message of love and care for Italian ecosystems and natural territories, thanks above all to the full support of the local circles of the most important hunting associations in the our country – commented Maurizio Zipponi, President of the UNA Foundation – “This year, however, we want to do more and at least double the results in terms of waste collected and the volunteers and associations involved. Also because we believe that this initiative perfectly represents the concept we are trying to communicate: the deep love and commitment that Italian hunting realities put into the care and protection of the territory. We therefore hope that everyone will participate a great deal, since the fight against pollution and in favor of ecosystems represents a common battle for the entire Italian population”.
